people * stories * engagement

Some of us put a lot of time and effort into putting together the ‘right kind of circle.’  The circle of referral partners.

By ‘right kind’ I mean those with similar goals, shared values, humour too, and most importantly an understanding of the basic courtesy’s/pleasantries of life. To develop the ‘right kind of circle’ can take time. Rarely are we able to build alone; after all, the job never finishes.

People/connections come and go.

Not everyone wishes to be part of a referral group. It’s a special kind of person who realises the benefits. You should be that person who enjoys helping people, so much so that you support and help colleagues at the expense of yourself.

You see, if we have more people helping others besides prioritising their own personal gain, the majority of us would be far richer commercially, far healthier in mind and body.

There are key characters in a network who understand that bringing the right ingredients together takes time; it’s time in togetherness where relationships flourish … and the effects can be profound.

Of course, the challenge is repetition. Routine for some is challenging until they ‘get it.’  Life itself has a tendency to disrupt the best-laid plans.

So, let’s try this one:

The right kind of circle (in this case, a wheel) is important on any bicycle. If you have two or three missing spokes, we lose stability; our ride is a rocky one (or worse)  The safeguard is having the optimum number of spokes in the wheel; this is when we’re running with stability. We reach our destination safely and in better time.

We fulfil our goals.

Now I wouldn’t wish to refer to any of my colleagues as damaged bicycle parts. Although with a little planning and responsibility for the well-being of others, we’re in a great place, with resources to move forward with confidence, especially compared to those unwilling to collaborate during uncertain times.

I love being with my like-minded mates, and strength is always found in numbers @weeklybiz.
