Wriggle room, please

‘That’s typical.’ I said, thinking to myself as I peered out of the kitchen window into a gloomy sky.

Today’s public holiday, Sunday looks set to be a wet occasion. So Plan A is a no-go, and it’s time to adapt and play it by ear, ‘dog duty’ is always first-up whatever the weather, but the plan thereafter to tackle a little gardening, followed by a stroll by the coast … then the BBQ?

Yes, that was Plan A, but not this time.

Instead, roll out Plan B.  Walking the dogs – that’s immovable. (If not … you can imagine the fall-out?)

Let’s look at the more routine matters today … the garage and ‘van support.’ A couple of hours spent on a current screenplay project and final revisions. I also enjoy some prep/planning for the forthcoming week of network engagement.

Sure, there’s disappointment that the first choice in weekend leisure time hadn’t been forthcoming due to ‘adverse weather conditions’ … But hey! I’m now finding myself ahead, so I’ll take the benefits that come from making the choice for increased productivity.

Manyana. There’s always tomorrow, huh?

I’m more laid-back these days. The coming fair weather is sure to bring original Plan A into consideration. If The Gods once again deem otherwise? It’s possible, but hey …

Working for oneself can be frustrating when not recognising the importance of creating ‘wriggle room.’ So, understanding what’s important to oneself. Appreciating those little things that make a difference and planning ahead … to get ahead … all contribute to not only better ‘bizability,’ more the original decision taken to step out and work for ourselves. Don’t you think?

I’m past the panic over deadlines. I’ve learned to be happy collaborating with nature. I trust her to show the path ahead as I enjoy the journey, recognising how precious time is as a solopreneur.

Life moves with us when we go with the flow.
